This product has been in development for a long time, so we are very pleased to finally put it out publicly as a 1.0 final release.
Many thanks to Rocky Burt who spent countless hours massaging the product to make it do what we need for plone.tv, and to Alec Mitchell for providing the great framework on which to build this functionality.
The biggest change that the 1.0 release has over previous versions is metadata retrieval from several video sharing sites: Google Video, Youtube, Blip.tv and Revver.
This means when you paste in the URL and submit it to your Plone site, it will go and fetch the title, description, thumbnail, tags and author and auto-populate the Plone form with this data. Big timesaver!
This version also includes new listing views and support for commenting, rating and tagging the video content.
