Provide a sitewide calendar to display all events that have been added to the site. Also let artists create their own personal calendars which display only their events.

Motivation

For a community site it's also useful if the site visitor can get an overview of all the events taking place on a particular month/week/day.

We propose to build a calendar that aggregates all the events posted to the site and displays it in a month view. We will later add week and day views for easier display of exceptionally busy calendars.

The default event listing that comes with Plone is okay, but it doesn't show the event graphically in a month view. The month view is useful since it's more visual and easier to discern when events are happening at the same time.

Also, artists need to be able to promote when they have a gig/performance.

Proposal

Make it possible to mark a normal folder of events as "calendarish" which provides some other views for that folder to display the events in new ways (event listing, month view).
