Downloading the Plone4Artists products

by Nate Aune last modified 2008-03-02 07:10 PM

Instructions for how to download and install the Plone4Artists products.

There are several ways you can download and install the Plone4Artists products. Which one you choose is dependent on whether you're trying to use Plone4Artists products in an existing site, whether you want to evaluate all of the products, or just a particular product, and whether you are a developer or not. Please read carefully the instructions below:

Download the site bundle

If you have an existing Plone site and want to install all of the Plone4Artists products, this is the bundle to get. This will include the audio, video, calendar and content licensing support all in one package.

Download the Plone4ArtistsSite bundle which includes all of the products.

Once you've downloaded this bundle, you'll need to put all of the products into your Zope products directory and restart Zope.

NOTE: The current Plone4ArtistsSite bundle is only for Plone 2.5. If you want to try out the products with Plone 3.0, you'll have to download the individual product bundles below.

Download the individual product bundles

If you just want to try out a particular feature of the Plone4Artists suite of products, you can download the individual product bundles.

Download the buildout

If you do not have an existing Plone site, and want to create a site from scratch with all of the Plone4Artists products installed automatically, you may want to try the buildout. The buildout is designed for developers who want to evaluate the product, and is not a point-n-click installer. We will eventually create an easy-to-use installer, but for now this is the quickest way to get Zope, Plone and all the add-on products setup and configured.

Note: to use the buildout requires some knowledge of subversion, the version control system we use.

Subversion access (for developers)

If you are a developer and would like to download the latest bleeding edge code, you can check out the code from the Plone4Artists subversion repository. Please read the svn access page for more info.
