Nate Aune

Saxophonist, composer, web programmer

I've been programming almost as long as I've been playing the sax, so it came natural for me to want to use my technology skills to help musicians and artists get on the 'net.

What is Plone4Artists?

The Plone4Artists project is an initiative to build a packaged version of Plone, with all the products necessary to get an artist community website up in no time. It is my goal to lower the barriers to entry and make Plone more accessible for non-technical users, or those who do not necessarily want to learn the intricacies of Zope/CMF/Plone.

A brief history

I started the Plone4Artists project after using Plone for my day gig at Learning Lab Denmark. Sadly this site was later moved from Plone to a Microsoft CMS, but you can visit the documentation site which is still running Plone.

Prior to discovering Plone, I used another open source content management system called Postnuke to develop Jazkarta, a community website for jazz musicians in New York City. The Jazkarta.com domain name has since been re-appropriated to be used for Nate's Plone consulting company. The domain names Bostonjazz.net and Newyorkjazz.net sites will be used to house these artist communities using Plone4Artists.
